Corrig Re writes scoring record

Goal Scoring record

AT JUST 19 CORRIG McGONIGLE REWRITES THE RECORD BOOKS

With at least fourteen games still to play Corrig McGonigle has now scored more goals in a season than any other player in Glantraeth's 33 year history beating the previous record of 41 goals scored in 2002-2003 season by Nigel Moore. Corrig only joined Glan from Caernarfon Town in late September having missed our opening six games making the 42 goals he has now amassed in just twenty starts even more impressive.
Any successful striker needs the service from his teammates but just as important good teamwork is only rewarded when the ball is put in the back of the net and Corrig's scoring record is little short of incredible.
Twenty one years ago I signed Lee Trundle on his first professional contract, he was a similar age to Corrig, also had a lethal left foot, and although a different type of player I have to be honest and say I would be hard pushed to choose between them at the same age and Trundle didn't end up doing too badly!
Corrig set himself a target of 50 for the season, he might well have to reconsider!
